Programs for New Skaters
Parent & Tot
A shorter, 10-12 week program suitable for toddlers or cautious beginners who need 1-on-1 support at all times.
Emphasizes fun and continuous movement. Learn GO, STOP, and TURN.
More than one adult helper can register to assist each child, but only one helper can be on the ice at a time. Anyone stepping on the ice must be registered with ISC and have paid the annual Skate Canada membership and insurance fees.
CanSkate
Our top-recommended, full-season program for children.
Earn ribbons and badges as you progress from Pre-Beginner through Stage 6 to develop your agility, balance and control. Whether skating for fun, fitness, or other competitive endeavors, this is the best place to start.
Suitable for any child who can stand up independently after falling down. Our Program Assistants are available to help!
Learn to Skate
Based on proven CanSkate techniques, this shorter, 10-12 week session is an introductory program for new skaters who wish to learn to skate recreationally with other beginners and Coaches support.
We offer an adult/teen time slot in the Fall, and an all ages session in the Winter.
